How To Cook A Delicious Coconut Rice 


Coconut rice is a dish prepared by soaking white rice in coconut milk or cooking it with coconut flakes.


  • Coconut
  • Fresh Tomotoes and Pepper
  • Chicken or Beef
  • Seasoning cubes
  • Spices eg thyme, curry etc
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Salt and Onions
  • 3 cups of rice


  1. Prepare your chicken or beef stock by washing your meat and putting it into a pot, add your thyme, curry, seasoning cubes, salt, your slices onion and little water and cook the chicken or beef for 10 mins. Then add more water and cook until done.
  2. Parboil the rice, sieve out the water and set the rice aside.
  3. Break the grind the coconut meat and extract the liquid.
  4. Grind the fresh tomotoes, pepper and onion together and set aside.
  5. Soak the chaff of the coconut inside a water,sieve out and set aside. This is done because the water will be used in case the rice needs more water. Ordinary water is not used that why we soak the chaff of the coconut into a water.
  6. Put your pot on the fire, pour your vegetable oil, sliced your onions and put it inside the pot.
  7. Pour your grinded tomatoes and peppers inside the pot and let it cook well.
  8. When oil begin to rise, pour the meat stock. This is done to make the pepper mixed well with the meat, then you cover to boil.
  9. After it has boil, you pour your coconut water (the liquid extract), you add your salt to taste. 
  10. Pour your rice and stir well, taste again to know if it's ok, then you cover and let it boil.
  11. If the water dries up without the rice getting soft, pour the water that contain the coconut shaft until the rice get soft and done.
