How To Get Rid Of Indigestion


Indigestion is the upper abdominal discomfort, describe as burning sensation, gassiness, nausea or feeling full too quickly after starting to eat. It's also the disturbance in the digestive function of the stomach or it's failure to digest food.
Some of the causes include eating too much, drinking too much, taking pills on an empty stomach and so on.

Self Treatments

  1. Without food intake for four hours.
  2. Drink one glass of hot water every hour during the four hours fasting.
  3. Eat a slice of ripe papaya 30 mins after a heavy meal
  4. Eat light meal without fatty foods after the four hours fasting.

Herbal Medication

  1. Papaya, ripe: Eat as a fruit dessert especially after heavy meals. Papaya helps in digestion of protein.
  2. Custard apple leaves: Warm the leaves in open fire. Apply the leaves directly on the stomach while still warm. Use abdominal binder. Renew every 2 hours. Good for children and babies.
  3. Manila tamarind, monkeypod leaves:
  • Boil 1 cup in 5 glasses of water for 10 mins. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dosage:
Adults: 2 cups initial, and then 1 cup every 4 hours
Children: 1 cup initial and then 1/2 cup every 4 hours
Babies: 1 tablespoon initial and then 1 teaspoon every 4 hours
