Make a Delicious Swiss Roll Cake


A Swiss roll, jelly roll, roll cake, or cream roll, or Swiss log, is a type of sponge cake roll filled with whipped cream, jam, or icing. The origins of the term are unclear. In spite of the name "Swiss roll", the cake is believed to have originated elsewhere in Central Europe, likely Austria.


  • 5 eggs
  • 1g salt
  • 50g of sugar
  • 90kg of cake flour
  • 2g baking powder
  • 50g milk
  • 50g vegetable oil
  • Cake butter.

Step 1
Open 6 eggs and separate the egg yolks into a bowl.

Step 2
Pour the 6 eggs white into another bowl and mix it well with a mixer.

Step 3
Divide 70g of sugar into three part, pour the first portion and mix well for 1 mins. Do same for the other two portions. This are poured and mixed in the bowl containing the 6 eggs white.

Step 4
Meringue is very important. After mixing the mixture well, it should look like the picture above.

Step 5
In the bowl containing the 6 egg yolks add 1g salt and mix well. Add little water and 55g of sugar and use a mixer in mixing the yolks in the bowl until it becomes light and foamy. Then it's volume will increase.

Step 6
Add the mixed (egg yolks with sugar) into the bowl containing the egg white and you mix well. You continue to mix until both the egg yolks and egg white mixtures are now in a homogeneous state.

Step 7
Add 90g of cake flour with 2g of baking powder, then you mix until you don't see the powder.

Step 8
In a bowl containing 50g of milk added with 50g of vegetable oil, you mix some cake butter in it. After mixing well, you pour it into the bowl containing (egg yolks, egg whites with cake flour and baking powder) and you mix it very well, then it is completed.

Step 9
Cover the baking pan with a non-sticky  baking sheet and pour the mixture and make sure it's the same height as seen above.

Step 10
Hit the pan from top to bottom. This is done to remove bubbles. After this, bake in preheated oven at 170°C for 30mins.

Step 11
Remove the baking sheet immediately after bringing the baking pan out in order to prevent wrinkle.

Step 12
Placed the baked cake on a new sheet and cut one edge of the cake diagonally.

Step 13
Cut the other edge about 3mm deep (do not cut completely) then you apply jam (fruit jam or honey) on the surface. Them you begin to roll the cake using the sheet. You roll until it reaches the other end. Then you pull it tight and use a tape to hold the paper together.

Step 14
Keep in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Then you bring it out and cut it into any size you want.
